The Kalasatama Wellbeing piloting programme offers companies an opportunity to develop solutions together with users and partner companies in a real urban environment. The purpose of the programme is to seek new solutions that improve the residents’ wellbeing, for example through remote digital solutions. The application period for the experiment starts in January, and it offers companies an opportunity to try out their respective solutions in close collaboration with the partner companies. The Kalasatama Wellabeing piloting programme has three stages:
1. Open call
The open call seeks pilots with digital solutions that improve wellbeing and health. The maximum value of a single pilot can be EUR 8,000. The pilots to be implemented will be connected to the operations and facilities of the project partners. The open call is open until 18 February 2018 and the offers are submitted by using a online offer form. Based on the tenders, a maximum of 10 teams will be selected into the Co-Creation Jam. The selected parties will be informed by 28 February 2018.
2. Co-Creation Jam and the Pitching Afternoon
The teams selected by the project partners will be invited to further develop the teams’ respective solutions in the Co-Creation Jam held 7 March 2018 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Co-Creation Jam enables the further development of the initial pilots ideas, in collaboration with the project partners. The goal of the Jam is to further develop the pilots to fit Kalasatama environment and to polish them into an “pilot sprints” that last up to six months. The sprints may also combine the experiments of various parties.
The teams will present their offers to the expert jury during the Pitching Afternoon on 13 March 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The jury will select 3–5 pilot sprints to be implemented in Kalasatama. The pilots being procured can have a total maximum value of EUR 40,000.
3. Agile pilots in Kalasatama
The pilots will be implemented from March 2018 onwards as “sprints” which will last up to six months. Smart Kalasatama Living Lab will facilitate the piloting and, among other things, support the teams in contacting and collaborating with the residents and operators in the area.
